Equal Measures 2030
Providing adequate data and evidence and connecting feminist organizations to support the movement ending systemic discrimination against women and girls

Equal Measures 2030 is providing feminist organisations and movements with data and evidence to support locally-driven and context-specific advocacy to highlight systemic discrimination against women and girls, whilst promoting collaboration and best practice sharing across partners. This initiative works alongside gender equality champions from all sectors to tell the story of progress (or lack thereof) for girls and women at the local, national, regional and global level —including through the online Gender Advocates Data Hub and the SDG Gender Index, which tracks gender equality progress in 129 countries and across the Goals.
To date, more than 800 women have received data-driven advocacy training by Equal Measures 2030. From land rights reforms in Kenya to changes in Indonesia’s national law to curb child marriage, this initiative’s data-driven advocacy curriculum and direct engagement model with feminist organizations and advocates, including marginalized and vulnerable groups, is generating successful advocacy effective collaboration.
Feminist organizations and movements play a uniquely important role in pushing for sustainable change in gender equality laws, policies and budgets. When these organisations and movements are well-resourced with funding, data and data-skills, their campaigns can go even further and faster. This is especially critical now in the COVID-19 context, in which violence against women and girls, and particularly domestic violence has intensified and progress on the commitments to gender equality have seen a dramatic set-back. By providing adequate data and tools and promoting shared learning and collaboration amongst advocates, this initiative is enabling better informed policy changes and can harness a global collective effort to accelerate the behavioral shifts needed.
