Artistic innovation deploying Cartoon campaigns to secure Africa of the Future through Youth Engagement on meeting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

CARTOON AFRICA INTERNATIONAL BIENNIAL (CAIB) exists to deploy artistic expressions in broadening audience engagement and empowerment on SDGs and other development concerns in favour of Africa’s productivity in a global context. The public education program targets mostly young people in Africa.
Until 2030, when our SDGs cartoon campaigns will come to climax, at least one million African children/youths are targeted to be engaged, empowered and positively involved in providing answers to securing the future of Africa (and the rest of the world) through Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) actions triggered by their graphic encounters with CartoonAfrica SDG campaigns.
The ongoing CartoonAfrica Traveling SDG Cartoon Campaigns & Comedic Art Workshops expected to tour parts of Africa and beyond in the next 14 months or more, if the funding needs are fully met by the organizers, to broaden audience engagement and empowerment on SDGs within the prism of artistic expressions and graphic humour.
Already, over 200 cartoonists from over 120 countries are already involved in this collaborative agenda to use artistic expressions to provide answers to many SDG questions since CAIB festival began in November, 2012, in Nigeria. Every other year, we put up an open calls for cartoons, comics, photo stories, cartoon animations, etc, under strategic thematic frameworks aimed at mobilizing a critical mass of change advocates, cartoonists, cartoon animators, etc. the transformative impact of which was felt some Nigerian schools where over 2000 schoolchildren have been empowered with comics to take SDG actions locally.
As we innovatively draw attention to development concerns in Africa not given the attention they deserved, within the context of the United Nation’s ‘Sustainable Development Goals’ (SDGs) and the ‘New Partnership for African Development’ (NEPAD), cross-cultural exchanges/interfaces around the SDGs fostered dialogues in Nigeria that spurred many youngsters to realize what they can do to take action.

Not ready at the moment.
