LOCALISE SDGs
A project by UCLG ASPAC,APEKSI, European Union
training for local government to promote integrated and evidence based planning as well as to promote multistakeholder partnership
The LOCALISE SDGs is a project under United Cities and Local Governments Asia Pacific (UCLG ASPAC) with funding from the European Union. Initiated in 2018, this is the first project in Indonesia that specifically aims to capacitate local government officers from 16 provinces and 14 cities in mainstreaming SDGs into their policies and planning. Through a series of training and web-based knowledge sharing platform, LOCALISE SDGs pushes forward innovative formats in introducing the concepts and paradigms of SDGs, integrated and evidence-based planning, multi stakeholder partnership as well as promoting SDG local practices. Specially on training for Localising SDGs, we annually conduct national and local trainings in 16 provinces to reach 300 local governments. In conducting its activities, this project opens a wide space for SDG stakeholders's engagement to create a bigger impact. Among the parties collaborating in our Localising SDGs activity are Ministry of National Development Planning, Ministry of Home Affairs, UNDP, GIZ Indonesia, Philantropy Indonesia, SMERU Research Institute and International Association for Public Participation (IAP2). This project also involves universities and civil society organizations at local lovels to strengthen the SDGs actors network regionally. The impacts of project activities have been far wide in assisting local government on the concepts of SDGs in terms of breaking silos, understanding the needs for integrated planning, and serving as a means for any stakeholders for SDGs in Indonesia to cooperate and succeed the SDGs achievements.
