To mobilize passionate advocates, youths and volunteers towards the collective achievement of the SDGs.
The project targeted youths and passionate volunteers of the SDGs across Abuja, Nigeria.
Youth organizations, civil societies organizations, SDGs related NGOs, UN Teach SDGs Ambassadors and SDGs volunteers are involved by organizing impactful SDGs seminars, workshops, trainings and outreaches across the local communities in Nigeria.
The project started 4th June, 2018 when we see the needs for collaborative efforts in achieving the SDGs.
We initiated the project with the aim of encouraging volunteerism and partnership in achieving the SDGs.
From the name SDGs Thursday, we do meet every Thursdays to discuss projects strategies, implementation and sustainability plans. We have been able to successfully impact over 7000 people (4000 girl child) in various communities in Nigeria.
Each volunteer are charged to bring different ideas, concepts, skills and knowledge which can help in the achievement of the SDGs. This valuable range of experience and understanding are encouraged and utilized appropriately.
It has encouraged most advocates, volunteers and local CSOs to work together in ways they can conglomerately increase their impact and advocacy of the SDGs to people in the grassroots.
It has help to sensitize children of age bracket 8-18 years in knowing SDGs and the needs for their involvements in its advocacy and achievements through the establishment of SDGs Youngster Clubs in various secondary schools. It has help to educate and empower over 4000 girl child on various useful ICT and vocational skills acquisition to help them sustain a living (SDGs 4, 5, 8 and 9).

About the Organization /Team

SDGs Thursday’s Team is a group of young and passionate SDGs advocate aiming at the advocacy and achievement of the SDGs. It is powered by IBI foundation under the chairmanship of Mr Ibrahim Baba-Inna. The Leadership of the Team includes: Amb. Joshua Makinde Coordinator, Adebayo Abdulahi A, Abdulah Abdulganiyi, Amb. Abeng Lucky, Durugbo Ahunna Favour, Fidelix Ayomah Etima George.
