To learn concepts of Sustainability, SDGs for students, teachers through hands-on game based learning and develop 21st century skills for sustainable future
Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and awareness of concepts related to Sustainability is critical for students, teachers, and management of the school. As we are living in an environment which is witnessing many extreme events, depletion of natural resources thus we require knowledge to effectively manage situation for our future generation. Besides this, 21st century skills are essential for smart living in this century. Thus, we created environmental improvement awareness project for sustainable development in school students, and underprivileged community for Sustainable future.

We conducted workshops and practical sessions related to Quality Education (SDG 4), Clean Water (SDG 6), Sustainable Communities (SDG 11), Climate Action and Disaster awareness (SDG 13). We provide specific knowledge on rainwater harvesting, water conversation methods, importance of water, solar energy, DRR, and medicinal garden through hands on activities, project and game based learning. Uttarakhand state students participated in activities such as quiz, poster, story, essay, 3R, and slogan to further engaged towards SDG Action. Schools are interested to take measures, actions for clean environment.

This initiative created awareness of ESD, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) among students, teachers, and policy makers. Further, it will provide framework to administer SDGs within school system. Research conducted during this initiative shows games foster effective learning habits to change our lifestyle for sustainable living. Besides this, community, youth imbibe sustainability concepts, responsibility, accountability, global citizenship, and gender equality concepts. We trained more than 380 School's Principal, teachers, 3770 youth and students from different parts of the Uttarakhand, western U.P. from 193 schools, institutions.

Our team members are working in areas of water, soil, energy, forestry, ICT, education and endeavour to develop intelligent, smart solutions that inculcate a sense of well-being at individual, ecological, and societal levels for the HaritaDhara (Smart Green Sustainable Earth).

About the Organization /Team

Our team of experts includes Engineers, Scientists, Educators, Architect, Designers, and Doctors, who have varied experience in school, universities, industries, technology and sustainability. Established as non-profit organization under the Companies Act 2013 as section 8 company, HRDEF committed to establish processes aimed at educating for sustainable development, management of environment, water, energy, waste, climate change, and transport issues through involving children, youth, and elders using ICT. HRDEF inculcate and motivates students for science, technology, engineering, art, design, and mathematics (STEAM) for 21st Century living. HRDEF develops capacity building mapping with skills development, CSR initiatives, and learning transformation.
