2030 Youth Force in the Philippines

A project by 2030 Youth Force in the Philippines Inc.

Engaging the youth and other sectors through education, activation, mobilization and collaborations for the Global Goals
Imagine a world where there is no hunger, where people are healthy and live comfortably in safe communities where peace and justice reign, where people and institutions are engaged in healthy relationships that lead to better quality of life. Such is a world the young people of today dream of. With the Sustainable Development Goals as a framework, the 2030 Youth Force in the Philippines Inc. (YFPH) engages the youth who make up almost half of the country’s population, to help achieve sustainable development and live a life consistent to the principles of the Global Goals.

YFPH traces its roots to the 2030 Youth Force in the Asia Pacific formed through the initiative of 17 young leaders from across Asia Pacific who participated in the “We are 2030” workshop of UNDP and UN Volunteers held in Bangkok, Thailand in 2016.

Since its launch in October 2016, YFPH has now over 2,400 member-advocates ages 15 to 30 from across the Philippines. Each SDG is championed by a youth leader whose education, profession or background is in line with the Goal. Called “SDG Ambassador,” the leader serves as a spokesperson and leads projects for the SDG he/she represents. Each geographic region is also represented by “Regional Representatives” in charge of localizing the SDGs to ensure campaigns reach the grassroots and initiatives are made and implemented in the principle of leaving no one behind.

• Education. YFPH mainstreams the SDGs and engages stakeholders in discussions to raise awareness and influence behavior of multiple members of society using various platforms.
• Activation. YFPH offers volunteering opportunities for member-advocates and network. Caravans also kick-start ideas for social innovations and members work on advocacy projects where they can explore and maximize their skills and potentials;
• Collaboration. Projects are scaled and conducted efficiently and effectively through multi-stakeholder partnerships.
