Humberto Rueda, the Golf Program Director for the OIDES Foundation in Colombia, initiated the Pan de Vida campaign to support teachers, cadies and families who live day-to-day and would struggle to provide necessities as the pandemic required businesses to stop. The Pan de Vida campaign started by bringing bread to families most in need, and was supported by donations from markets and delivery in partnership with the police. To increase the campaign’s impact, there was a call for donations to be auctioned, such as autographed jerseys, art and other products. All of the proceeds have been invested in delivering food, allowing the campaign to spread across other parts of the country.
